24 hour street. The shops and services on this street work throughout the day and night. Sketch of this covered pedestrian road in the centre of the city. The ramp overcomes the difference in floor level between the two connected streets.
The results of a comprehensive planning study have been applied throughout the city. The Community Streets, one for each neighbourhood of Curitiba, are composed of a bus station, shops, a police station, a social centre, a health centre and sport facilities and are a very good example of accessibility for everybody, including the elderly, disabled and wheelchair users.
Likewise, neighbourhood libraries and many public squares, parks and woods have been created, with cycle paths and access for all the neighbours.
